Favicon not updating [Fixed]

I blogged about favicons in the last post, where i discussed each and everything about favicons.

What are they? How to create them ? and lastly how to put them on your blog ?

Now after posting about favicons don't know why but something got in to me about changing EBP's favicon.

So i changed it, I could see my fevicon updated in the layout section but the fevicon wasn't updated when i loaded my blog.

I waited and waited and waited but nothing changed.

After waiting for 2 days i started to wonder that why the hell isn't it getting updated ?

So i Googled it and i ended up on an interesting solution.

So if you were having the same problem or wish to change your blog's fevicon in the future you are most recommended to read the post because you can be one of the victims too.

Why isn't the favicon Getting Updated :

The answer is that your favicon is updated.

Yup, you read it right.The servers have updated your fevicon.

The problem lies in the browser.What kind of problem you will be thinking ?

I'll let you know.The thing is that it's not quite a problem but a basic setting which is there to decrease the average loading time of a site.

It is the cache of your browser.

It stores some basic info about every site you visited which includes the fevicon as well.

So that it doesn't have to request each and everything from the servers each time you visit a site.

Which as a result decreases the average time it takes to load a site.

So i guess you have guessed the solution, Right ?

It is clearing the cache but wait you don't need to clear all the cache there is another much suitable way to do that.

How to update your Fevicon :

If you'r using pc, while on the page press ctrl + F5
For Mac/Apple: Apple + R or command + R
For Linux: F5

Know what happens when you refresh the page this way ?

It's not only the page that refreshes but a new cache is also stored for that page.

And that's it this time you will get your desired favicon in the browser.

I got that problem quite irritating and when i got the solution i thought why not blog it.
